Come to a good old fashioned bamboo meeting! All members welcome and anyone interested in learning about the American Bamboo Society and our local chapter. A short business meeting will commence after lunch. Come meet all of us bamboo fanatics and enjoy a fun garden tour at the home of Nancy Oberschmidt. We will be honoring the passing of a good friend and one of the founding members of the Pacific NW Chapter Ned Jaquith with stories, and a slide presentation by James Clever. Fall Membership and Business Meeting, Saturday, September 8th – 4:00 PM at Bamboo and Koi Garden. Summer Campout and Chapter BBQ to begin thereafter. This is your chance as a voting member to select the chapter board members, and for the board members to select their officers. If you would like a volunteer position within the chapter please come to the meeting and introduce yourself!

President – The “big picture” person who runs the meeting, sets agenda and oversees committee work.
Secretary – Documents meetings and publishes them to the membership.

Chapter Representative – Represents the chapter at the national ABS level and handles any questions from the public.

We also need a Newsletter Editor. We would like to publish an electronic newsletter of chapter happenings quarterly. Familiarity with publishing, graphic design, copywriting and Constant Contact is a plus but not required. Enthusiasm for all things bamboo is!

The American Bamboo Society President James Clever and other experts will be on hand for your questions. There will also be a bamboo plant sale, an auction of rare bamboo plants, and kid friendly activities.

At noon, we will have we a potluck lunch, (the Chapter will be providing a main dish and beverages) and short garden tour.
