			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The annual fall meeting will be held on Sunday, September 11 at the Outdoors By Design Nursery in Shelton, WA at 11:00 a.m. The meeting will include reports to the members from the President, Treasurer, and our ABS representative. Remember, Board members are elected at the fall business meeting, so if you want to actively serve on the Board, be sure to make this meeting! At noon, we will have we a potluck lunch, (the Chapter will be providing a main dish and beverages) and short garden tour. Depending on attendance, James Clever and/or Phil Comer will make presentations on bamboo basics. Don&#8217;t miss a great opportunity to catch up with friends, learn about bamboo, and share a great meal! Hope to see you here.</p>

<p>Driving directions: From I-5 N or S, take exit 104 to Hwy 101 North, Aberdeen/Port Angeles.  Follow Hwy 101 North for about 5.5 miles, then exit on right, following sign to 101 North, Shelton/Port Angeles. Continue on Hwy 101 for about 11.5 miles, then take the exit to North 3, Shelton/Bremerton. Bear to the right and merge onto North 3. We are the first house on the left, immediately after the merge onto North 3.</p>

Once again, the Hoyt Arboretum is gifting the Visitor Center Lecture Theatre and Picnic Area for this event at<br />
4000 Southwest Fairview Boulevard<br />
Portland, OR 97221<br />

<p>Time:  9am to 3pm.</p>
<p>Talks and demonstrations:<br />
These will be held at the Lecture Theatre at the Visitor Center.<br />
There will be talks on taking care of spreading bamboos, selecting the best and new clumping bamboos, plus workshops from leading artists working with bamboo.</p>
<p>Plant Sale:<br />
Plants will be available for sale at the picnic area below the Visitor Center.  The sale helps the chapter provide events such as this, as well as lectures and aid for conservation.  There will be numerous leading experts on growing bamboo in this region available for advice on care and landscaping.</p>
