PNW 2016 winter meeting, Aloha

Come spend some time in a bamboo art studio surrounded by finely crafted artwork made primarily with bamboo!
See tools and a studio set up while visiting with other bamboo enthusiasts. One of the Pacific Northwests valuable resources in working with bamboo as a fine craft material will be on hand to answer questions about working with bamboo as a material. A small workshop will be held in the morning from 9-10:30 where participants will be able to make a bamboo and paper candle votive cover while learning about bamboo as an art material. Class charge is a minimal $12.00 to cover material expenses. Advanced registration required for class.

After class (from 10:30-11) the meeting will take place where those who did not join the class can view the work, the studio, the book collection, and ask the artist and other bamboo experts questions about bamboo.  A bamboo splitting demonstration will take place. A PNWABS board meeting will take place from 11-12, all are welcome.  Potluck lunch will be from 12:00-1:00 where friends old and new can visit and talk bamboo. Anyone who wants to prune rhizomes on a small grove or help clean up the potluck is welcome to from 1:00-1:30. The get together will end promptly at 1:30.
