Portland Bamboo Festival
A fundraiser event for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Bamboo Society a 501 (C)3 not-for-profit corporation.
WHEN: Sunday July 14th, 2013 – 10 AM to 3 PM
WHERE: Hoyt Arboretum Picnic Pavilion  4000 Southwest Fairview Boulevard, Portland Hundreds of live Bamboo plants in containers to purchase and take home with you, cut bamboo canes, books, and tools for sale by several different and knowledgeable vendors. We will have the following lectures, demonstrations, and workshops:

  • 11 to 12:30 – Free Bamboo Fan making workshop for kids by local bamboo artist, Charissa Brock
  • 11:30 – Working with bamboo in the landscape and growing bamboo in containers, by Lloyd Dubois of Bamboo Rescue.
  • 12:30 – Demonstration on how to divide clumping and container bamboo by John Stamey, of Wild Bird Bamboo.
  • 1:30 to 2pm – Bamboo Cane Splitting demonstration Charissa Brock
