The Bamboo Arts and Crafts Network is sponsoring a bamboo arts and crafts discussion group on the Internet. Established in October, 2000, our group represents 63 countries worldwide, and is growing. Membership is free.

Judy and Bill sell prepared bamboo for fine Japanese basketry and artist craftswork, and also prepare to custom sizing for special orders. Basketry workshops and private tutorials are available at their workshop. Travel to your educational site for workshops of six to twelve people can also be arranged.
She has designed/built garden structures and eco-interiors including applications of bamboo products in home and business decor: on the floor, up the wall, off the wall, for the window, on the ceiling.
She conducts bamboo construction workshops. Methods of harvesting, curing, treating are discussed. Skills demonstrated and practiced include - cutting, foundations/footings, fastening, and finishings.
She educates with slide presentations, bamboo materials, and discussion/Q&A. Topics include bamboo constructions, bamboo art & craft, bamboo inside, and bamboo in the landscape
Habu has many unusual yarns. They stock bamboo yarn in several different sizes, but all in natural white.
The Handweavers Guild of America, (HGA) have "published an article about handspinning bamboo fiber. The article, written by Bonnie S. Carter, is part of the Learning Exchange program, where HGA members exchange samples of their work with others. The article appears in the Summer, 2007 issue of Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot, HGA's quarterly magazine. Hardwick has a fine selection of tools for bamboo craft work —Japanese saws, splitting knives, four- and six-way splitters as well as just about any other kind of tool you could think of.
Bamboo is the primary material in Cal’s sculpture, but he also includes many other organic materials such as wood, gourds, and fibers. The scale ranges from tabletop to well over 14 feet in height. Photographs of his current work can be seen on his Web site. Commissions are welcome.

Hida is famous in the San Francisco Bay Area for their high quality tool and hardware selection. Bamboo tools are available or can be custom ordered. Catalogues for both woodworking and gardening tools are available -- $5 for both.
Aya describes her brush calligraphy and Japanese sumi-e painting as a major part of her 60 year life and the “unlimited creation of brush movement is my highest moment of physical and spiritual harmony.” Commission work is welcome. Size and price are flexible. Her calligraphy of the Japanese kanji characters for bamboo are always in demand.
Elaina combines many materials and techniques in her basket weaving. Bamboo is one of the materials with which she is working and experimenting sometimes combining it with core and cane rattan. She exhibits her work in galleries in the northwest and commissions are welcome. Elaina teaches basketry on a regular basis in the Portland area. Please call or write to be on her mailing list.
Jodie carries bamboo motif items ceramics, soap, incense, incense holders, pitchers, etc. Order by e-mail only.
Stone Forest specializes in hand-carved granite fountains, stone lanterns, and stone basins. They also carry bamboo accessories for the garden, such as deer scarers and water spouts.
Pat specializes in pastel on paper interpretations of the woven surface of Japanese bamboo baskets. Pastel sizes currently range from 22” x 30” to 30” x 44.” Inventory now available, but commissions are welcome. Prices range from $1,400 to $3,500.

The Yarn Barn carries knit-spun bamboo yarn in ten colors. At the time I'm writing, the cost is $13.50 for a 3.5 oz skein of 250 yards.
